Frequently asked questions

How can I/we get an appointment?

Use the form on this website, email info@relationships.org.gg or give us a call on 01481 730 303.

What do your services cost?

Adult relationship counselling £70 per session.  PST and family counselling £90 per session.  If this is not affordable for you, we ask you to pay something that you can reasonably manage.  There is more information about costs here.

What are your account details?

Account name: Relationships Guern
Sort code: 60-09-20
Account: 74887947

Where are you based?

Our offices are at 5 Smith Street above Crew Clothing.  There are a number of steps so if you have difficulties with access we can offer Zoom counselling or an alternative venue.  Please let us know if this is an issue.  To view a map of exactly where Smith Street is click the link here.

Do you offer online counselling?

We don't offer it as standard but some of our counsellors can offer counselling via Zoom.  If you would prefer this, please let us know

Can I come alone?

Yes absolutely.  We counsel people alone.  Also sometimes a person will come along and their partner wants to join later.  This is fine.   Under some circumstances you may need to start again with a new counsellor but you can discuss this with them.

How does the counselling work?

Please read through the section on this to give you an idea of the full process:
How our counselling works

What time should I arrive and where should I go?

We ask you to come no more than 10 minutes before your appointment.  The reason for this is that sometimes more than one counsellor is working and we stagger appointments to maintain privacy.  When you reach our floor, there is a waiting room straight ahead of you.  Please take a seat in there and your counsellor will come to you.  You won't be waiting with anyone else in the room.

How private is the counselling?  This is Guernsey... what if I know the counsellor?

When we offer you an appointment, we will tell you the name of the counsellor.  If you have a close relationship with the counsellor you cannot see them.  If you know them but are happy to see them that is usually fine.  We never tell the counsellor your name unless you are due to see them.  Also please note that once you start counselling, only you and your counsellor knows what is said.  No admin staff or other counsellors will know.  Your case maybe discussed with a UK supervisor, but your name will not be used.  Your privacy is very important to us.
